Data Module Enclosures

Data Module Enclosure

These enclosures made of ABS plastic can be used as a protective shell for the Stackable Data Modules. Mount the bottom half of the enclosure to a flat surface using sheet metal screws. Slide the Data Module into the DB9 slots at each end of the bottom half and then snap the top half of the enclosure onto it. The top half can be removed at any time to access the screw terminals on the module. This enclosure comes in two sizes, CASE-SM is 3.1" wide, CASE-LG is 3.5" wide. Choose the one that fits the module you are using. Will not fit the WTMPI-M card.

OBSOLETE NOTICE: These cases are no longer being manufactured and will be discontinued once the current stock is depleted. However, the WTX4 series of DAQ modules, which are an advanced version of the original DAQ cards and a direct replacement, comes in its' own protective case as a standard feature. In addition, the WTX4 can be stacked together with the original DAQ cards if desired.

USB to RS-232 Cable

USB to RS-232 Cable

This 6 foot cable will allow the Stackable Data Modules to be connected to a standard USB port of a PC or Laptop running Windows, MAC, or Linux. Up to 32 discrete Data Modules can share a single cable simultaneously! Compatible with our ModCom software or any other software which can access a standard COM port.

Data Module Power Pack

Data Module Power Pack

This regulated switching power supply provides 18VDC which can be used to power the Stackable Data Modules (except for the WTX4). The output incorporates overload, over voltage, and short circuit protections, and can deliver up to 330mA making it suitable to power multiple Data Modules at the same time.

Stackable Mounting Hardware

Stackable Mounting Hardware

These modules can be plugged end-to-end, or they can be stacked vertically as shown in this picture by using a stack-kit consisting of RS-232 ribbon cables and PCB standoffs. This kit will stack 3 cards including an extra ribbon cable to connect to an additional stack next to it, or on top of it. Note, the modules in this series come in two different sizes (3.1” or 3.5”) and can only be stacked with their own size.

Wireless Radio Link

Wireless Radio Interface

Replace the Stackable Data Module's communications cable with a wireless link using this license-free Serial Radio Modem available from B+B SmartWorx. Two units are required, one attached to the host computer's communications port, the other attached to the network of DAQ modules at a remote location. A crossover (Null modem) adapter is required for the DCE port of the DAQ modules. Ideal for use in applications where the installation of physical communications wiring is not practical.

Fiber Optic Link

Fiber Optic Interface

Replace the Stackable Data Module's communications cable with a noise-immune fiber optic link using this Serial to Fiber Optic Modem available from B+B SmartWorx. Two units are required, one attached to the host computer's communications port, the other attached to the network of DAQ modules at a remote location. A crossover (Null modem) adapter is required for the DCE port of the DAQ modules. Ideal for use in harsh environments where severe interference is present and distances need to be extended of up to 2.5 miles.
